1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
A friend of ours has been here six months longer than us. She has committed to a year and now, with just four or five months left, is thinking of what is next… She was particularly struggling one day with patience in waiting on where the Lord is leading her, missing home, comforts, and feeing a little alone. In her time with the Lord that morning she expressed all of her unsettledness to God and asked Him to comfort her. She finished, as we all do from time to time, wondering if God was close, if He was listening and if He cared about her frustrations.
Enter the Hugheys… bringing a circus everywhere we go; some of you might say that is putting it politely! It was a Sunday morning and our friend needed a ride to church, since we both go to South City Church we said we would be happy to take her.
Who knows what all was really going on in the car that morning. (i.e. Boys fighting, Ellie tattling, all calling each other names…) But God spoke very specifically to our friend Claire through Emerson. She got in the car that morning to Emmy singing, “He’s got the whole world in His hands. He’s got the whole world in His hands. He’s got the whole world in His hands. He’s got the whole world in His hands.”
And then… verse 2.“He’s got Cla-ire in His hands. He’s got Cla-ire in His Hands. He’s got Cla-ire in His hands. He’s got Cla-ire in His hands.”
God, in His mercy said to her, “I hear you, I love you and I am leading you. Be patient and rest in Me.” And He said all of that through the mouth of a two-year-old little girl!
